Beat the winter doldrums by hiking at Yellowwood Lake. On February 3rd we will meet at the park headquarters at 10:00 am and hike the loop around Yellowwood Lake. The distance is approximately 5 miles. For those that want additional mileage, we will also hike the Scarce O’ Fat Trail for approximately 5 more miles.
The terrain of the lake hike is relatively mild, with elevation gain of 400 ft. Expect mud and some sloppiness. The Scarce O’ Fat trail has over 550 elevation gain and is a more rigorous hike.
All hikers will need proper hiking shoes/boots with good grip. Bring snacks and one to two liters of water. Those staying for both sections of the hike should bring lunch.
The hike is limited to 12 people. If you cannot make it after registration, please notify the leader so those on the waiting list can be invited to come.
