While considering your participation in CIWC trips, be aware that some trips will involve shared transportation, lodging, and other activities. Each participant is encouraged to evaluate your comfort level with such arrangements based on your health condition, vaccination status, and unknown COVID positivity rates at the time of the trip.  Members are encouraged to review the COVID waiver as a part of this evaluation.

This 3-day trip to Red River Gorge is a hiking trip/cabin for those who would like more challenging hiking without camping or backpacking.

We plan to leave Indianapolis about 9am on Friday, April 14, 2023, from a carpool location TBD based upon participants who sign up.

Once we arrive on Friday, we plan to do a short hike at the RRG Natural Bridge. Dinner will be a prepared meal as a group. Saturday, we plan to have breakfast as a group and then head out to hike Double Arches and Auxier Ridge Loop. We can plan to hike another short trail if time allows. Afterwards, we plan to go to Miguel’s Pizza for dinner (on your own).

Sunday morning, we plan to have breakfast, clean up and we can do a short hike before heading home. We should be able to arrive back in Indy by 5-6 pm. The trip fee includes mileage reimbursement, 2 breakfasts and 1 dinners and other fees. Lunches and trail snacks, meals in route and post hike at Miguel’s are at participant’s expense.

Questions may be submitted to ciwcinfo@gmail.com.

All trip participants must fill out and submit a CIWC Medical Form and Long Waiver Form.

Effective on all trips, there will be a $50 nonrefundable registration fee. This fee will be assessed to those who sign up for a trip, get on the roster and then later cancel. Even cancelling before the cancel date. Those who never make the active roster (i.e., those who stay on the waitlist) will NOT be charged the $50 cancellation fee.
