While considering your participation in CIWC trips, be aware that some trips will involve shared transportation, lodging, and other activities. Each participant is encouraged to evaluate your comfort level with such arrangements based on your health condition, vaccination status, and unknown COVID positivity rates at the time of the trip.  Members are encouraged to review the COVID waiver as a part of this evaluation.

John Carlson and I are planning a beginner day paddle event at Eagle Creek on July 9th from 9:30 am -1:00 pm. This CIWC event is open to all members and non-members. There is no cost for the event, but you will need to rent your own equipment (2-hours). The website to rent your equipment from Eagle Creek Outfitters is (Eagle Creek Outfitters | Visit Indy). You can go to the website to see how much the rental is. I believe that a Single kayak for 2 hours is $28. Double kayak $33. Tandem canoe $33.

Bring your own lunch or snacks,

There is a fee to enter the park. I believe it is $7 instate for the park pass.

We will start the day with an introduction to paddling, safety precautions, types of paddles/strokes, and more by experienced paddle leaders. We will then move our classroom to the water where we will practice our techniques and just enjoy the water. PFDs will be required.

All trip participants will be expected to submit a medical form, sign a waiver and complete emergency information documents prior to participation.

CIWC Medical Form and Unified Waiver Form

After registration leaders will communicate additional details.
