This will be an overnight for one night in Hoosier National Forest near Story, Indiana.  We will meet Saturday morning (approximately 10:00 AM) and stay overnight one night to get comfortable with carrying a pack and setting up the campsite.  We will backpack to our campsite approximately 2 miles from a parking area. We will set up camp and eat lunch/snacks before learning basic backpacking/camping in the wilderness and work together to make dinner, learning about the different pieces of equipment, hanging food, tying knots and other miscellaneous items.  We will make a leisurely breakfast Sunday morning before heading out for the day.

Don’t have gear? That’s no problem as CIWC has tents and other gear you can borrow.  We share some club-provided group gear, such as stoves and water filters. Suggested gear list will be provided by your trip leader.

Dinner and breakfast will be provided by the leaders. Participants will need to bring their own lunch and snacks.

All trip participants will be expected to submit a medical form, sign a waiver and complete emergency information documents prior to participation.
