Come and join us on Wednesday October 4th for our regular bi-monthly gathering at Holliday Park.
Doors open at 6:30 PM and there will be light refreshments in the corridor outside the auditorium. (No food and drink allowed in the Auditorium. Please!). At 7:00 PM we will assemble in the Auditorium for three interesting presentations.
Activity #1: Freezer bag meal demonstration and workshop. We will be putting together several “Freezer bag meals” for your use on future trips. The club will have some home-made ingredients to put together some tasty meals for use in the Backcountry. We have been using several of these on recent trips and love not only how they taste but that you only have to add hot water! You can eliminate the need for cookware as well as having to do dishes. Bring a foam type beer can koozie if you want to eat at the meeting or you can take your meals home with you.
Presentation: We will have a trip review from the attendees of the recent Pictured rocks and Tahquamenon Falls trip in Michigan. This trip has become a club favorite and we will also share some tips on planning future trips to this beautiful area.
Activity #2: 2018 Trip planning workshop, we will start discussing places and dates for next year’s adventures! Come with your ideas and see what we are thinking. Even if you have not been trained to lead a trip we have trip leader training upcoming and have other trained leaders that may be looking for additional co-leaders. Time to start dreaming and getting excited about 2018!
Note: CIWC membership is not required to attend the social event and presentations. It's all free!!
