While considering your participation in CIWC trips, be aware that some trips will involve shared transportation, lodging, and other activities. Each participant is encouraged to evaluate your comfort level with such arrangements based on your health condition, vaccination status, and unknown COVID positivity rates at the time of the trip.  Members are encouraged to review the COVID waiver as a part of this evaluation.

SINGING! FOSSIL HUNTING! HIKING! – What do these activities have in common? Well, if you join us at Whitewater Memorial State Park on Friday November 18-Sunday November 20, you will be able to do all three. We will stay in two of the family cabins at Whitewater Memorial State Park, which is located in Liberty, Indiana near Brookville Lake. Group singing and music-making will be a prime feature of the weekend, and all participants are encouraged to bring any portable instruments that they may play (including spoons, sticks, shakers, etc.) and some of their favorite songs to share/teach! In between music sessions, we will go out fossil-hunting along the road cuts on the way into Brookville, where we will have lunch (either at a restaurant or at a picnic area sharing snacks/foods we have brought along – depends on weather and the desires of the group), and we can also do some leisurely hiking around the park.  Singing around the campfire in the evening will be an added delight!

The trip fee covers cabin lodging, firewood, 2 large breakfasts (including hot coffee, teas, and cocoa) and Saturday dinner. Participants will need to pay for their own lunches in town on Saturday if we decide to eat out, their entry into the park (currently $7 or State Park pass), and will bring along their own Friday dinner (or eat before coming), a favorite snack or dessert item to share with the group during the weekend, and any cold drinks desired. Details of what personal items to bring along, when to arrive at the park, which cabins we will be using, and any other info will be sent to participants after the cancellation date. (Note: The cabins do have stairs up to the door from the walkway, and to get from the living/dining area to the restroom, so they are not accessible to those who cannot do 4-5 stairs.)

Questions may be submitted to ciwcinfo@gmail.com.

All trip participants must fill out and submit a CIWC Medical Form  and Long Waiver Form.

Effective on all trips, there will be a $50 non refundable registration fee. This fee will be assessed to those who sign up for a trip, get on the roster and then later cancel. Even cancelling before the cancel date. Those who never make the active roster (i.e. those who stay on the waitlist) will NOT be charged the $50 cancellation fee.
