Day Hike at Knobstone Trail - Spurgeon to Delaney Loop
Join us for National Take a Hike Day! We will meet and start our hike from the Spurgeon Trailhead and hike the loop around Delaney on Knobstone Trail. This is long and challenging hike. Duration of the hike depends on the crew, weather and trail conditions, so you are signing up for an all day event. This would be a good practice hike for any of your challenging backpacking trips.
The weather looks to be in the 40's so dress in layers.
Length and elevation: Approximately 11 miles with about 1350 feet elevation gain. You need to maintain moderate pace(2-2.5 mph) throughout the hike.
Difficulty level: Difficult and strenuous hike because of length and elevation.
Location: We will meet at Spurgeon Trailhead at 9am.
Bring plenty of water and your lunch/snacks.
Standard CIWC rules apply. No pets. You need to sign a waiver before the hike. See you all on the day of hike.
